Seriously, there are intricacies to the upgrade process/purchasing process that are not completely evident. At least they were not evident to me.

I know I say this a lot, but also read everything in the first post of the Tips subtopic. It is geared more towards people that have hit level 20 and are wondering how to move forward.

There are a few people on most nights. There is a daily story mission that we pretty much do regularly. Find a couple people or go solo to do those missions. Since most of us are higher level and do these missions at level 28 difficulty you could tag along with you're character (you wouldn't be able to inflict any damage) but still get the bonus drops at the end of the mission.

We'll be doing the weekly heroic and weekly nightfall tonight you could jump in with somebody doing those. I'm pretty sure level 21 is high enough to do those.

I may be able to hop on at like 10ish tonight. I'll look for you guys.

The Dark Below DLC releases December 9.

Wait until your first time in the Vault of Glass. It's so different from the rest of the game it might as well be a different game! Raiding is very fun.

I wish there was matchmaking with the vault of glass. It is hard to get 6 people together who are willing to put in the time. Especially when you like to go to sleep by 11.

What's your vanguard level? If it's 2, you need to go buy a pair of legendary gauntlets and boots; they're 65 marks each. That will bump up your light level. Get the helmet next, or buy whatever Xur is selling this weekend and go from there.

I wasted a bunch of time wearing a cloak for the FWC, so I fell behind with my Vangard rep. I'm back to working on that and will hopefully get up to level 2 soon.

Do lots of patrol missions, public events, and the strike playlist. Anything that gives you vanguard rep.

I did quite a few patrols last night and played some Crucible with Tyrant. We're completely moved into our new place (not done unpacking) so I should be able to get back to playing a few nights a week again.

Yeah, until you hit level 20+, a lot of that isn't going to make much sense.

Holy f*cking sh*t, I FINALLY got some gauntlets with light power and reached level 22. Only took like a month and a half to get from 21 to 22. That cryptarch is a real bumpickle.

I misspoke yesterday, I think. One of the best ways to get your Vanguard rep up at a lower 20 level is to complete bounties. I think they normally give 100 rep or so. Public events don't give rep, they give marks.

Completing individual patrol missions gives you +10 rep.

Remember too that blue armor also gives light, but it's the legendary/exotic armor that you ultimately want.
