How about placing a new 'Destiny' subforum above Dark Souls? Seems like many of us got this and the main page...or this thread....could get cluttered pretty quickly without one.

So WTF is an alliance? Is that were groups or clans can join together for some larger purpose? How do we do that? Why would we want to?

I suppose if we did it would make sense to link with the AVS clan. One of them jumped into my game last night after I failed to go to bed after leaving eclipz' fireteam.

Also maybe the TWW guys? I have no idea what alliances are for though. Maybe they flesh out some of this stuff more in the future.

Maybe for the Raids or the world events...whatever they're called.

All of these questions leads me to ask another- where are we supposed to learn what all of this stuff means. It took me clicking on every single thing in the Destiny app to realize that absolutely everything on your person levels up. And I also finally realized that finding Grimoire cards can lead to XP/Glimmer/other multipliers....

Keep playing and you'll figure it out I guess?

We are already in Alliance with the AVS clan. I sent them a request back when the beta started. Still don't know what that does though.

I got to level 6 and through most of earth including several bosses alone but man some of them were tough to finish

Had an issue with the Vanguard Armory content not showing up. There was an error on the initial DLC download. Found out what you need to do for it to show up.

On the PS4 go to your system settings then PSN and click on renew licenses.

I had the game closed down when I did this and then restarted. When I went to the Vanguard Quartermaster person the content was there.

I'm thinking of buying this just so I can complain about the repetitiveness of the gameplay.

Sorry. I had to run out around 7:15 to pick my oldest son up from basketball practice (had fired Destiny up around 6:30 when I got home for a few minutes). I didn't make it back on until about 9:30. When did you try and join?

People complaining about the repetitiveness of gameplay don't know what they're talking about.  I believe this stems from the fact that if you start a mission on Old Earth, you'll always start on the same map...around the same places and enemies you've seen before.  Pull up your Ghost and spawn your speeder.  You don't have to work your way through all of the enemies to get to the "new" area where the real mission starts.

And enemies respawn.  Infinitely.  They do that because it's a persistent online world.  If you sit too long in one spot looking for loot, admiring the Traveler, or just hunting spinmetal, that group of enemies you just killed?  They just respawned.

I like the idea.  It allows lower level players to just run around helping blueberries and leveling up a bit, find better weapons, work on their grimoire and equipment levels, etc.

It's not repetitive, people just don't user their speeders much.

repetitive is a funny claim; aren't all games repetitive by nature?  Especially shooters, where you point a digital stick at stuff, pull a trigger, and it "dies"?

Theres a lot of differnt modes, there's questing coming, there's loot and item managment.  Most importantly the entire game is centered around COOP and MP.

if you're soloing this game like a SP shooter, I can see why a lot of those people might have a bad time.

And, reportedly, the "real" game doesn't start until you hit level 20.

Another complaint about repetition I'm hearing is the mission format - kill stuff, advance to a location, deploy Ghost, big fight to finish. Silly complaint if you ask me. An FPS where every mission ends with some sort of boss fight, whether it be endless waves of baddies or a Giant monster - hell yes!

Beedubs, I was doing very little ducking and covering with a hand cannon. Precision headshots from mid-range and close-up all day!

Sadly I lack precision...but I haven't tried the hand cannon yet.
