So what did From Software mean when it said that Dark Souls II would be more accessible than its hard-hearted predecessors? Tanimura talked about removing the "tedious" aspects so you can focus on what makes Souls so eminently engaging. For instance, it wasn't until halfway through Dark Souls that you unlocked the ability to warp between bonfires. In the sequel, you will be able to perform this vanishing feat from the beginning. This ties in to the less-restrictive level design as well. Dark Souls II will once again take place in an open world in which each section is ostensibly a level in itself. However, the order in which you progress is more flexible than before. With more choices, you can forge your own path through the decimated world, so having warp points should limit needless backtracking.
Could be bad. Part of the problem with trolling phantoms was unforeseen access to later areas quickly, and poorly planned scaling elements.
I have a SL level 4 player with the kiln opened up and a lighting weapons that does 700HP DMG. It'll kill a noob in berg 20X over in one strike, which is why I used it to hunt trolling invaders and coop.

Publisher explains marketing effort for upcoming sequel will treat game like "massive AAA game" unlike predecessor.
Namco Bandai is going in "guns blazing" to market Dark Souls II, public relations director Lee Kirton told OXM during a recent preview event.
He explained that unlike how it treated Dark Souls and Demon's Souls, the publisher will treat Dark Souls II like a "massive" AAA game from a marketing perspective.
"The good thing this time round is we're investing more in it from a marketing perspective," Kirton said. "With Dark Souls and Demon's Souls, it was very focused, small-scale. We're treating this as a massive, massive triple-A title."
Kirton further explained that marketing materials for Dark Souls II will be aimed at fans of the series, as well as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim players.
"We're going to go guns blazing with it, and hope to God that it works," Kirton said. "We're going after people who love and adore Dark Souls, while hopefully widening the net a little. I'm not saying that every Skyrim player's going to be jumping on Dark Souls, but it would be nice if some of them did. It's a different game, sure."
The original Dark Souls has sold over 2.3 million copies life-to-date.
Dark Souls II is currently in development for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, though a release date has not yet been set.

Game reportedly shipping in March next year; no confirmation of next-generation console versions.
Dark Souls II, the sequel to From Software’s 2011 hit role-playing game, Dark Souls may be releasing in March next year, according to a report on Kotaku.
A large billboard has been spotted in Los Angeles by user Norm the Alligator ahead of next week’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. The 2014 launch window has lead to speculation that the next title in the notoriously unforgiving series may also include a next-generation console release.
A Namco Bandai Australia spokesperson declined to comment on the release date, and reiterated that only Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game have been announced.
Namco recently confirmed the company will be going "guns blazing" to market with Dark Souls II.

Quote :
On the other side of the bonfire a long dark hall awaits. In the southern alcove several candles are lit, and according to Tanimura each of these candles represents a death. Whenever any player online dies at the hands of the boss in this area, a new candle will be lit, and you will see it.
That boss is the Mirror Knight: the mongrel no journalist has managed to defeat. He's a tall knight with a sweeping heavy sword attack and a lightning projectile. He also wields a mirror which, in the final build, will be an invasion entry point for other human players. This means you'll be dealing with not only a boss but also an invader, which is hilariously sadistic.
