I was able to summon three different folks. Me and another dude took out the big boss in the Depths. I also killed one invading phantom and died at the hands of another. It works, it's just not easy to find specific people.

Not for me. I must keep getting dumped on the sh!t server, cause there's barely any MP going on in my world, and I'm unable to play with others.

I always see tons of messages, lots of blood stains, and many other players at bonfires. I've also noticed some players are more solid than others at a bonfire. I figure those people must be in my Covenant.

I've noticed there are solid specters at the fires too...They all seem the same opacity to me, but only around the fire, and I am not in a Covenant as of yet.

Probably, but it worked fine in DS with only a little lag.

I think the bigger problem for me is world wide players in P2P systems, and Comcast packet filtering those connections.

Ratings don't seem to be working correctly, and none of mine have been rated even once according to the game. Others comments are very infrequently rated, and if I negative rate their comment, it shows up as a positive rating for some reason. As unhollowed (body) I rarely, if ever, see any souls signs. So, I can not invite anyone to help my online. When i use my soapstone, others rarely pick mine up to help them, or the connection fails. I'm assuming it's just not bothering to show them it in their world. Invading isn't working, is constantly failing, and when it fails the one time item you used to try to invade isn't given back to you.

I'm not sure if i'm getting put on a ghost town matchmaking server with no one playing, or if the matchmaking is just overloaded; but to me it seems like poor design decisions coupled with possible glitches that need to be looked into. I never, ever had one issue with Demons Souls, but so far Dark Souls is pretty much limiting me to a single player existence. I'm not even terribly concerned with finding friends in these segregated worlds, I just want COOP and PVP to be fixed so I can play with someone, anyone, as it was intended.

Really hoping there's a fix. I know Comcast is probably being douches and filtering gaming packets (can we please make that illegal?), but again I booted up DS last night and still have no problems in that game besides the occasional laggy connection. So far DKS is more like playing DS offline, and thats makes me want to cry.

I've got Comcast too, have yet to try any co-ops though. I know they made me go through hell and high water to get the PS3 to work on their connection though.

Thing is, never ever had an issue with PC gaming, even with Comcast. Good rates and low pings, but you were able to choose the people you play with obviously.

Wondering if Comcast is packet filtering other nations, and also those with bad connections...

I'm not sure if many have figured this out yet, but I haven't really seen it posted here.
I was watching a stream of some dude playing Dark Souls the other day and he was constantly summoning his friend into his boss fights/areas. I asked him how he did it and he happily told me. Apparently, whenever you drop your White Soapstone, it's placed on a random server. If you drop it again, it's placed on a server different than the one it was before. So a buddy of mine thought we'd try out this guy's method of summoning his friend. My friend would drop his soapstone, and wait about 20 second, and drop it again until I told him I seen it, which I did eventually, every time. Sometimes it took five minutes, one time it took around 11 minutes, but that's because the first two times I seen his stone, he dropped another one before I told him I seen it, so the summon would fail.
TL;DR: Drop Soapstone near buddy every 20-30 seconds. Buddy should see it eventually when it lands on his server. Summon him up"

Maybe that will help you seen your buddies stone!

Took me 20 sign outs and about a hour last night to find someone to take gaping dragon with the Sunny "I suck at fighting" guy.

Could really use help in blightown, not sure where I'm going but down... (just past first fog, fell into a poison swamp, stung to death be overactive, hard to target bees)

Anyone else within SL33 want to try?

still, my bigger issue seems to be getting thrown on empty servers, or severs full of NG+'ers.

I was doing well COOP helping people to beat the gaping dragon last night, then decided to go human and invite a person. Found a sign right away, invited him, and apparently he was AFK just standing there for 10 min.

WTF.


Only way to banish him was to sign out, and back in. did that and it was a huge mistake, because it kept throwing me on BS servers. Took another hour to find someone offering to help.

This may certainly make it easier to be summoned, but you'll have to coordinate with a PSN buddy to actually summon someone.

I'm down... playing with friends is 75% of the reason I bought this game and haven't been able to do it yet.

I'm 33 and probably need most of tonight to farm the rest of the souls I need to pay for my absolution and buy a few pyro spells.

However I haven't done any of that area... the furthest I have gone is the forest clearing area of Darkroot and only the beginning of the Depths.

Love to help with the depths. I can keep you from getting cursed!
